Dog Wellness

If we form the conditions for wellness, that is what tends to happen. Some of those conditions are, in no particular order:

1. appropriate social structure

2. discipline and training

3. humane treatment

4. safety/security

5. establishing and maintaining trust

6. clear communication

7. nutrition

8. exercise

9. play

10. rest

11. opportunities for healthy socialization

12. limiting exposure to difficult situations while learning to handle them better

13. motivation

14. respect for individual personality

15. purpose (having a job)

16. beneficial routine

17. connection or bond with pack, a sense of belonging

18. the ability to control outcomes predictably through engaged behavior

In the future we’ll take a closer look at each of these points, which are all related.
